Scientific Student Conference 2021

Green (r)evolution: from molecules to ecosystems

Online Conference, 19-20 November 2021

Organised by Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Poland (SGGW)

The Scientific Student Conference was organized in a hybrid form by the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, SGGW. Students from various life science fields could get an insight into the scientific world and present their research under the headline "Green (r)evolution: from molecules to ecosystems" and the four subthemes:

  • Molecule- includes all the smallest perspectives of life on earth, but also some of the most important. Changing the world starts with the smallest particles, the very beginning of all life. This subtheme included subjects like chemistry, nanotechnology, microbiology, virology, and genetics.
  • Organism- is an individual; a human being, an animal, a plant, or maybe a robot? The organism is built up of smaller parts and operates on its own or within a community. This subtheme included biology, medicine and health, chemistry, economy, engineering, food science, biotechnology, how the environment impacts the individual being.
  • Community- is the interaction between organisms, meaning anything from the interaction between a parasite and its host to human societies to robot-human interaction. This subtheme included engineering, social sciences, economy, entrepreneurship, natural resource management, food and consumption, urban and rural development, agriculture and land use, forestry, food security, medicine and health.
  • Ecosystem- are interactions on a large scale, how all things in the world are dependent on each other and how even the smallest change can have the biggest impact. This subtheme included environmental sciences, innovations and entrepreneurship, biology, geography and social studies, rural and urban development, natural resource management, engineering, forestry and agriculture, food security, medicine and health and epidemiology

About 100 students had the opportunity to present their work as either an oral or a poster presentation.
